MASTERPLAN In Final Recording Stage For Upcoming Debut
February 25, 2002MASTERPLAN, featuring former HELLOWEEN guitarist Roland Grapow, ex-HELLOWEEN drummer Uli Kusch and former YNGWIE MALMSTEEN singer Jorn Lande, will start tracking the vocals to their full-length debut today, February 25th, with producer Andy Sneap for a tentative summer release through an as-yet-undetermined label. In a recent interview, posted online at www.helloween.org, Grapow revealed that 16 songs were recorded during the recent sessions, with at least five of them boasting a sound in the traditional HELLOWEEN/STRATOVARIUS vein, while the rest of them are said to be more modern-sounding, not unlike HELLOWEEN's The Dark Ride, but taken one step further. According to the guitarist, the band doesn't want to waste any of the songs as B-sides, because all of them are good, so some might be released on an EP or on the band's second CD. MASTERPLAN will begin shopping around for a record deal upon the album's completion in March. In related news, LOCOMOTIVE BREATH's upcoming album, entitled Heavy Machinery, which features a solo from Roland, was mastered by Martin Kronlund at JM Studio on February 21st for an April 15th release.
